I wanted to share my experience thus far with transiting over to the vimsottari Jupiter Mahadasa. and I know that in past Facebook posts, I have mentioned me being in a Jupiter Dasa, also being in a Jupiter return and a P2 Jupiter return and things of that matter. And this isn’t to create a debate of whether “tropical/ Vedic”, I use them together, right, and I am especially interested in the Dasa periods because I could see that they bear weight.
so for the past 18 years before this transition occurred I have been in a Rahu Mahadasha and if you aren’t familiar with the Dasa system and I’m not claiming to be an expert in this field, it’s only something that I am I look into and check from time to time, and read on it when it fancies me. if you will. But yes during your periods in your dasa , they trigger those planets and the ruler of the house where those planets are in your own chart.
Now my Rahu Dasa[ correction I meant to say just Rahu of the North Node] is in Taurus is in the seventh house which means it also triggers my fifth house where my Venus is and my first house because it’s in a direct opposition to my south node and as I’ve read, according to the system, Mars is an enemy to Rahu and being in that system I’m a Scorpio rising if I’m using the tropical rashi, as per Parashara, then it wasn’t very good just to say the least.
My Rahu Dasa For 18 years was like fucking terrible and careerwise it was terrible, relationship wise it was terrible, monetary It was terrible. I mean you have these ups and downs where it seems like it was going great and I’m going in my direction, but I felt so sure and so confident in many areas and then come to find out it was like a total illusion.
You will see that mentioned with a lot of people who speak about the Rahu Dasha that it is like an elusive period where things aren’t real and I did experience that it wasn’t most of what I thought and what I was doing was kind of like a fucking fantasy because at every turn it was- bleh. But I didn’t take into account this transition period What it’s like to go from being in a certain energy umbrella for 18 years and now moving over to a period that is supposed to be, you know one of the best periods of your life if you’re lucky enough to experience a Jupiter mahadasa. And I will say that I could see that in the final stages of Rahu that certain things were disappearing.
The Avenue and direction I was taking in my life was kind of- was changing it obviously changed I spent the last five years of my Rahu Dash really getting into astrology. The way that the public and other people were gravitating towards me changed. I mean just by example, if you were to look at social media that I’ve done over the past 18 years I haven’t gotten near the amount of attention or responses or connections then, as I am starting to get now.
The last period I would say, the last year though, one of the things that Rahu Mahadasa will cause is a lot of anxiety so experienced a lot of anxiety and even now still I’ll have periods of anxiousness and still kind of trapped in that “what do I do?” direction wise. with that , you know, kind of trickling down because like I said you know in astrology doesn’t work like light switches it phases off so the first periods of my Jupiter Dasha, though they do appear to be going well I still have remnants of Rahu moments that are still affecting how I think and what I’m doing so I will say that for anybody who is going to experience a transition from one Mahadasa to the other, to be aware that in maybe that first year or those first few months you’ll still be hanging on to a lot of what you spent because the dasa periods are so long.
You know it’s not just a couple of months or a year or two years, like I said the Rahu Dasha is 18 years atnd the Jupiter Dasha that I’ve just started will be 16 years so that umbrella of energy it’s not something you just easily shifts.
It’s amazing that I did look up or I read some stories of people who made that transition from Rahu Maha DaSa to Jupiter and a couple of things that they said was towards the very end or that last year which would be a Rahu maHa dasa , Mars AnteraDasa- that it’s kind of like those final punches but, you’ll start to begin to see if the next transition is going to be something good- one of them was the birth of a child or if you got pregnant or if you began a relationship or you started something that seemed positive it would kind of give you an indication that your Jupiter Dasha will go OK. Which was amazing because I gave birth to my daughter I made amends with my mother.
In my tropical chart my Jupiter dasa will rule over my ascendant because I have Jupiter in Capricorn in the house ruler that is Saturn, I have that in the first house. It will rule my second house which is Sagittarius, of course, so it will have affects to my second house and my ascendant and obviously my third house where I have Jupiter in my sideral chart. It is going to rule over my ascendant, no not my ascendant pardon me, I’m trying to think this out of my head- like why didn’t I pull this up before I started what the fuck is wrong with me-
my third yes it’s going to rule my third because in my Sideral chart I have Sagittarius in the third house and my sun is Sagittarius so my sun and my third house is Jupiter maha dasa, will roll over that. I still have Jupiter in Capricorn so it is going to rule over my fourth house which is kind of interesting because like I said I made amends with my mother and the importance of you know that’s the fourth house the mother, the family with my mother, and my brothers and I are closer than we have been before which that’s all the third house and during the last couple of years with the Raha Maha Dasa I started to reconnect with my cousins which is also the third house. so I could already see remnants of what a Jupiter mahadas might entail.
I’m gonna hurry up and look at freaking — OK yet so in my scenario chart it’s going to rule over my third house my fourth house and my first house again. so I’m going to have a lot of- and I have changed my appearance the way that I am presenting myself to others but like I said it’s still jarring to go from spending 18 years in this kind of illusion fucked-up-ness of my Rahu dasa to now going into Jupiter which I can see that there are indications that it may be well even though in my natal chart Jupiter falls in Capricorn it is conjunct my sUn in both charts.
I think it just really depends. normally you hear that if your Rahu Dasa was fucking terrible as mine was, then your Jupiter mahadasa should be better. Should be. should be.
But yes I just wanted to kind of share my experience thus far it has only been a couple of months since the beginning of my Jupiter dasa Jupiter Antara Dasa, so I’m in this transition. But it seems that things are going to finally look up for me! hopefully, fingers crossed right? I will kind of keep an idea, or you know, keep you posted on how that’s going and to kind of give you an idea of what it might be like for you to experience a change or switch from one Dasa perriod to the other.
I’d actually like to hear if anyone else has either gone through or is getting ready to go from Rahu to Jupiter or whatever vimostarri dasa that you’re going through if you’re transitioning from one of the other or what experience you did before that happened or one is ending and your beginning another one that would be very interesting to look into.
some apps, just in case, if you’re like “well how do I find out what my vimsotorri is?” I know that Astro visor on the android will give you your vimsotarri dasa. I think any number of Vedic sites you can go to will calculate them for you if you have the Kala program which is for the computer it will also calculate your dasas and they have different systems of dasha – so far I’m been dealing with Vimsottai. I did look into another one with Ernest Willhelm where he uses Jamini and Chara dasas, I believe which seem to be pretty accurate, but they use signs instead of planets. And that one seems to be OK. I have to go back and check again to see what mine is, but one of the best ways to figure out which Dasa system works for you, is if they have dates for when periods happened and if you can remember what occurred or what events you had during those moments, then you can see which ones hit more often than not .
I hope you get what I’m saying you’ll get a whole list of dates when your dasa started when the antatera dasa started, when the sub periods started, you know, to say something like if you’re going through a Mars dasha with the Saturn antaradasa and a Venus sub period. And it’ll give you the date that started and if you see on that day that you were experiencing Saturn- Mars- Venus things – you might say that this system is more accurate for your life.
That’s what I’ve done to see which ones which systems work out which ones matched up with events in my life. so yeah just wanted to share that with you I just felt like talking about the transition I’ll let you know how Jupiter Mahadasa works and you’ll be witnessing it obviously for the next 16 years. let’s hope social media last that long That we can find out what a Jupiter mahadasalooks like, but I can tell you that my Rahu Mahadasa, that shit was fucking ridiculous. I hated it. I mean, I learned a lot. it definitely let me know what was, at the end of it, totally not for me and unreal.
and I have been cutting off and letting go of pieces of myself from that period, as well as people or things or ideas as I’m transitioning into this new moment. I’m hoping for-
there were a few people who shared their stories where they said that when they were really into their Jupiter mahadasa- when they knew that energy was there, they felt like a calm peace over the mind and all the anxiousness that they experience during the Rahu Dasa had ended. Some of them said it took like three months, some said six months and some said a year and eight months- whatever it was when they said they were finally into the energy- they felt that.
I am truly hoping that I get to experience that and these were the same repetitive stories, repetitious stories from people who also had Jupiter debilitated or wasn’t actually in a great place in their chart or it wasn’t very strong and yet they all still said that they felt that experience.
Things did, for the most part, for some of them, get better. For others, it can get worse. I found that those that really super enjoyed the Rahu Dasa experienced the opposite when it came to Jupiter and vice versa. so here’s hoping and crossing fingers and peace everybody happy star chasing oh my god that sounded so corny not trying again PEACE!
